Blackfalds (10) – High River (0)
HIGH RIVER – Four different skaters had multi-point games as the Blackfalds Wranglers cruised to a 10-0 shutout win over the High River Flyers on Friday night.
Bryce Boguski, Tyrell McCubbing, Layne McLean and Andrew Mclennan each finished the night with a pair of goals for Wranglers (19-11-4), while Wally Samson led all skaters with a five-point game, scoring once and adding four assists.
Mackenzie Russell tallied his second goal of the season to round out the scoring attack for Blackfalds, which held leads of 2-0 after 20 minutes and 5-0 going into the final frame, where they would double the score with five more singles.
Nicolas Herrebrugh improved to 11-4-0 on the season in the Wranglers’ crease, stopping all 25 shots he faced to earn the shutout.
Banff (3) – High River (0)
BANFF – Blaise Arkle factored in on all three goals, while Joel Lepper stopped all 34 shots he faced as the Banff Bears blanked the High River Flyers by a 3-0 score on Saturday night.
Arkle scored twice for the Bears (12-21-1), while also setting up Rei Kikuchi’s 24th of the season.
The two teams were scoreless for the first 36:18 of the game until Arkle added a power-play marker for his first of the night.
Arkle added his second power-play tally of the game just past the midway mark of the third period, while Kikuchi made it a 3-0 game just over three minutes later.
Lepper made 15 of his 34 saves in the final 20 minutes as he picks up his first career HJHL shutout.
Tyler Fornwald made 42 saves for the Flyers (11-24-3), which will enter the post-season as the number six seed in the Southern Division, where they will play either Coaldale or Okotoks.

2015 Golf Tourney
The Flyers 2015 Golf Tourney, newly renamed the “Eli Gosselin Memorial Fundraising Golf Tournament”, was sold out and was a great success. Thanks again to all of the sponsors and the Highwood Golf & Country Club!
