High River, AB (October 24, 2025) – The High River Flyers got bested by the Medicine Hat Cubs 4-1 tonight at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex.
The Flock will be needing to take starting goaltender Erich Baxter out for a steak dinner after the game, as he made 57 saves on an astounding 61 shots against, including 21 saves in the third period alone. Kayne Wright, the starter for the Cubs, had a much easier night, making 16 saves on 17 shots.
Flyer captain Wout Rehorst opened the scoring in the game just over a minute into the second period. Nate Matiowsky picked up his first assist on the season on Rehorst’s marker.
Unfortunately, that would be the lone goal for the Flyers as Mason Osinski added a pair of goals with Nolan Sutherland and Jesse Klimosko picking up the other two markers.
The Flyers head to Coaldale tomorrow to face the Copperheads.
