High River, AB (November 22, 2025) – The High River Flyers won’t be celebrating tonight as they close out the weekend with a 12-1 loss in Strathmore to the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings tonight.
The Flyers would play both Erich Baxter and Kaiden Fulton in the loss as they were trying to get any type of rhythm going in the road game in Strathmore. The Kings went with Evan McNair in net tonight against the Flock.
High River was outshot 44-17, but was able to get 11 shots in the second period alone, which was also the same frame that McCallum Bakken would score the Flyers’ lone goal. Emerett Norleen and assistant captain Ethan Burgeson got the helpers on Bakkens’ marker.
The Kings would see a trio of their players get hat tricks in the game. Charlie Goll, Cole Tweit, and Luke Nottveit all got the hat tricks for Strathmore, with Trey Kam, Josh Alberda, and Koen Wainwright each picking up a goal.
The Kings and Flyers will meet one last time during the 2025-2026 HJHL season, with the final game between the two coming on December 19.
Next weekend, the Flyers will host the Rocky Rams for the first time this season on Friday and then head to Cochrane to face the Cannex Generals on Saturday.
