High River, AB (January 17, 2026) – The High River Flyers were handed an 8-2 loss tonight at the hands of the Colts in Didsbury.
Kaiden Fulton gave his team a chance in this one with his 44 saves on the night as the Flyers were outshot 52-17. William Steingart started in net for the Colts.
The Colts opened the first period with four unanswered goals in the frame. Sawyer Campbell collected two goals in the frame with Tyler Gyori and Conner Campion adding the other two markers.
Flyers assistant captain Lucas Hughes stopped the bleeding 27 seconds into the second period with his 16th of the season. McCallum Bakken and Isaac Cayetano collected the helpers on Hughes’ power play marker. Nate Smith answered back for the Colts, and Campbell would finish off the hat trick before the second came to a close.
The third period would see Carson Grimeau add his third goal of the season, but the Colts would collect two more goals before the final buzzer, with Smith adding his second of the night and Joseph Krukowski picking up the goals.
The Flyers will be back at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex on Friday night as they host Coaldale for the last time this season.
