High River, AB (November 28, 2025) – The High River Flyers held on to take the 5-4 win in regulation against the Rocky Rams tonight at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex during the annual Teddy Bear Toss.

Kaiden Fulton once again helped carry the Flyers to a win after making 47 saves in his 14th starting appearance for the Flock during the 2025-2026 HJHL season. Fulton would make 21 saves alone in the first period and shut down the Rams in the second period by not allowing a goal while facing 15 shots. Wesley McKinstry made the start for the Rams, but was replaced by Lauson Kolisnek with under two minutes remaining in the first period.

The special teams played a role in the game, with the Flyers coming away with the advantage. Flyers assistant captain Isaac Cayetano opened the scoring just over halfway into the first period with a power-play marker. Assistant captain Lucas Hughes would pick up the primary assist on the game’s opening tally, with McCallum Bakken grabbing the secondary helper. Dane Christinsen added his third goal of the season within a minute after Cayetano made it 1-0 to give the Flyers a two-goal lead 12:09 into the frame.

Flyers assistant captain Ethan Burgeson would get a penalty shot opportunity with four minutes remaining in the first period and capitalized by finding the back of the net for a Flyers 3-0 lead. The Flock wasn’t done with their offensive onslaught as captain Wout Rehorst chased McKinstry from the net with his ninth goal of the season. Burgeson added his second point of the night with the primary assist, along with Bakken collecting his second point of the night with the secondary helper.

The Rams stopped the bleeding with 16 seconds left in the period with a power play goal of their own courtesy of Cody Wells.

The second period saw both goaltenders stand their ground as only one goal was scored in the frame. Burgeson was the lone goal scorer at the 7:52 mark of the period. Bakken earned his third assist on the night, with Cayetano adding his second point of the night with the secondary assist.

The Flyers saw the Rams come out strong in the third period as Ryan Strangeland, Bret Hymers, and Tyler Hanson made a strong push for a comeback with goals; however, Fulton and the Flyers were able to hold on and take the 5-4 win over the team from Rocky Mountain House.

The Flyers will be on the road tomorrow in Cochrane to face the Cannex Generals to wrap up this weekend’s games.
