High River, AB (January 3, 2026) – The High River Flyers’ two-game win streak was snapped tonight in Medicine Hat as the Cubs took the game 5-0.
Erich Baxter made the start in net for the Flyers and was peppered with shots as the Cubs outshot the Flock 54-14. Hudson Corbett picked up the shutout as he was between the pipes for Medicine Hat.
The Cubs were only able to solve Baxter once in the first frame, even after taking 15 shots in the period. Jesse Klimosko picked up the lone goal for the Cubs in the period.
Baxter again stood tall as he allowed only two goals on 25 shots in the second period. Mason Osinski picked up a goal on the power play, and Kyle Woordridge added his first of the night.
The third period was more of the same as the Cubs picked up another two goals to close out the game 5-0. Woodridge added his second of the game, followed by Osinski collecting another power-play goal.
The Flyers will be back at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex on Friday when they host the Coaldale Copperheads.
