High River, AB (October 27, 2025) – The High River Flyers weren’t rewarded for their efforts tonight, falling 5-1 to the Cannex Cochrane Generals at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex.

The Flyers were able to get a fair amount of shots on net with 29 during their matchup against Cochrane on Halloween, but the Hockey Gods decided the second meeting between the two would go to the Generals.

Kaiden Fulton made the start between the pipes for High River, making 34 saves in the contest. Owen Hall-Chay was on the opposite side of the ice, starting for the Generals.

Cochrane opened up the scoring 2:32 into the game with Jaxon Bouchard picking up the first goal of the game. The Flyers would then get two power-play opportunities near the eight-minute mark of the first period. The Flock would put the pressure on the Generals, and High River would be rewarded with a power play goal coming from assistant captain Ethan Burgeson. Lucas Hughes, who also wears the “A,” would get the primary assist with Drew Armstrong getting the secondary assist.

Unfortunately for the Flyers, that’s all the offence they would produce as the Generals would add four unanswered goals, including two more in the first period, to hand the Flyers a loss. Evan Sine would collect two goals with Kael Kozicki and Brayden Palinkas getting the two other Generals’ markers.

The Flyers will be in Starthmore tomorrow to face the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings for their second and final game of the weekend.
