High River, AB (January 24, 2026) – The High River Flyers were on the road for the final time during the 2025-2026 HJHL season as they fell 5-1 to the Thunder in Airdrie.
The Flyers were nearly doubled up in shots as they finished behind 42-23. Erich Baxter made the start in net for the Flock, making 37 saves in the tilt. Austin White was between the pipes for the Thunder.
Assistant captain Lucas Hughes opened the scoring at the mid-way mark of the first period as he collected the Flock’s lone goal on the power-play. McCallum Bakken and Dane Christensen both collected points with the assists. Daytn Kulynych answered back for the Thunder to close the period at 1-1.
The Thunder would get two more goals in the second and then add another two in the third to take the game 5-1. Alex Wickens, Tariq Khan, Hunter Sellers, and Justin Campbell were the goal scorers.
The Flyers will close out the season on Friday as they host the Cochrane Generals at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex for the final game of the 2025-2026 HJHL season.
