High River, AB (September 13, 2025) – The High River Flyers closed out the 2025-2026 preseason Didsbury tonight, but came up short in a 3-0 hockey game against the Mountainview Colts.
The Flyers split their back-to-back games against the Colts for their only games of the HJHL preseason.
Erich Baxter made his debut in net for the Flock and impressed with 37 saves on 40 shots. Colin MacDougall was in the net for the Colts, stopping all 33 shots he faced.
All of tonight’s goal scoring came in the second period as the Colts were able to string three goals in just over 12 minutes. Jager Hanson, Reed Toussaint, and Trey Mueller all collected goals. Both Hanson and Mueller picked up their markers on the power play.
The Flyers will now look forward to their home opener and the HJHL season opener against the Medicine Hat Cubs on Friday (Sept. 19) at Bob Snodgrass Recreational Complex with an 8:30 p.m. start time.
