High River, AB (June 13, 2026) –The High River Flyers took part in the annual Rowan House Golf Tournament on Monday (June 8) with four players and two board members representing the organization.

For the second year in a row, the Flyers hosted the “Happy Gilmore” hole, where golfers would have to switch their putters for mini sticks, bringing both the golf and hockey worlds together in a creative way.

Flyers President Tim Bradbury said the reception of the Happy Gilmore hole was met with positive reactions.

“The Happy Gilmore hole was met with surprise but also great excitement by all. Every golfer took up the challenge, with many surprised by the different amount of weight needed to get the ball close to the hole. We did see a few teams putt out and get a par on the hole,” Bradbury said.

Bradbury would also add how important the relationship between Rowan House and the Flyers is as both organizations continue to help one another.

“As a club, we have close connections with Rowan House. We donate some of the proceeds from our yearly teddy bear toss, and they have attended games and have sold the WestJet raffle tickets in the past. This year, we will be donating 2 season passes to enable families to attend our games,” he continued.

The Flyers thank Rowan House for once again throwing a great golf tournament.

Flyers fans, the season continues to get closer. Make sure you stay updated, as more news is expected to be released.
